For grandma: a gift that steps out of the photo frame

Designed in France*

The default gift for grandma is a photo frame or a mug. A personalised coloring book does two things at once. It's a keepsake (her grandchildren turned into illustrated pages) and an activity (something to colour with them when they visit). Some grandmas keep it as an album, others colour it page by page.

A few examples that work for this case

  • Grandma with her grandchildren rendered in line art

Grandma in the middle, her grandchildren around her: her favourite layout.

  • Family afternoon snack turned into a coloring page

Wednesday afternoon snacks at grandma's, a classic to colour.

Our tip for grandma

Ask grandma quietly which photos she likes to look at. She often has favourites. Including a photo where she appears with her grandchildren multiplies the effect. If her hands tire easily, the 6-photo format (more open line work) is gentler to colour.

Recommended format

24-page book, €49.99

Enough room to cover several grandchildren or several periods, without feeling overwhelming.

How we make your book

Designed in France, printed on demand by a European partner. Square 21.6 cm format, 90 g/m² uncoated inner paper that holds pencils and water-based markers well, hardcover on the 12 and 24-photo formats (stapled on the 6-photo format).

Frequently asked questions

Grandma doesn't like colouring. Is this a bad gift?

Not at all. Most grandmothers use it as a keepsake album to leaf through with the grandchildren when they visit. The colouring side is secondary.

How many photos do I need to supply?

One photo per page: 6, 12 or 24 depending on the format. You can supply fewer, but those pages will fall back to generic illustrations (floral patterns, landscapes).
